Dart
Use darts to regulate the fullness of close-fitting woven garments. Transfer the dart stitching lines from the pattern to the wrong side of the fabric. Place the fabric right sides together, aligning the stitching lines. Stitch from the raw edge to the dart point, securing the beginning of the seam. At the end of the seam, you can tie-off by machine or knot the threads by hand. Press the darts towards the middle Optional: topstitch the dart on the right side of the fabric, close to the seam for a decorative effect. In the case of lined garments and heavy fabrics, trim the dart seam allowance and press open. Press the dart point flat.
