Stretch blindhem

The stretch blindhem is especially suited to knit and stretch fabrics. This stitch will create a hem that is invisible on the right side of the fabric and overcast the raw edge in one step Use Blindhem foot No. 3 and Blindhem stitch 31.Baste the hem in place approx. 3/8" (10 mm) away from the raw edge. Fold the hem back along the basting line, exposing the wrong side of the hem facing. Place the fabric under the presser foot, so the red guide of the foot is butted against the inner foldline of the hem. The 3/8" (10 mm) extension will be positioned under the red guide and pin of the foot. Overstitch the seam allowance, making sure that the needle barely pierces the fold of the hemline. Use the adjusting screw of the Blindhem foot or adjust the width of the stitch as needed to achieve an invisible hem on the right side of the garment. The zigzag stitch on the right edge should overcast the raw edge of the hem facing edge.
