We strongly recommend you to always update your creative™ 4.0 sewing and embroidery machine with the latest software version.

PFAFF® creative™ 4.0 update version 3518-5548 (2010-08-03):
- Support for 200x200 hoop
- Support for cutwork needles
- New functions in service mode

creative™ TEXTURE HOOP
Set your imagination free with the creative™ TEXTURE HOOP. It will turn your special embroideries to spectacular! With this new hoop you can weave ribbons, fibers and yarn to add texture and dimension to your embroidery. Update your creative™ 4.0 sewing and embroidery machine and it will show the creative™ TEXTURE HOOP as well as all other available hoops in the Hoop Selection list.

Tapering in embroidery mode
You can now save a tapered stitch in sewing mode and use it as an embroidery design in embroidery mode.

Update with the USB-stick
After this new update you will be able to do all further updates by using the USB-stick.

Precise positioning
The fabulous precise positioning feature is developed even further. A new button takes you automatically to the maximum zoom and pans to the hair cross. This will make precise positioning even easier to use!

Basting in the hoop
With the new basting function it is not only possible to baste around the embroidery design but also to baste as close to the hoop edge as possible. You can select to have one or both basting options active at the same time. This new function will give you even more freedom in your creative process.

Color block selection
The color block selection have been given new features to make the color selection process faster and easier. It is now possible to multi-select colors or select equal colors to change them all at the same time. If you select one color block, the stitches in that color block is highlighted and the other color blocks of the embroidery are faded.

Software improvements
A number of software changes have been done in this new version from consumer requests. Such as...

  • The creative ™ 4.0 sewing machine can ”read” more embroidery file formats; vp3, vip, hus, dst, shv, dhv, 10, exp, pcs, pcd, pcq, pec, pes, sew, xxx and jef.
  • Basting in the hoop will start to sew in the upper right hand corner to make it possible to thread the first color even if the design is placed to the far left in the hoop.
  • The machine will allow lower needle for Precise Positioning which will make it easier to step by step move to the exact spot.
  • In Files & Folders you can select whether you want to display the files like icons or in a list view. The benefit with the new list view is that you will be able to see more files in the same view and a more detailed list of the file names.
  • In ”more options” in embroidery mode there will be an option whether you would like to display the designs in a three dimensional look or not. The 2D option will draw the embroideries on screen much faster and will also show colors in a more correct way.

How to update with USB cable

  1. Click on the link below to download the update file. You need a file compression utility to open the file (WinZip or similar).
  2. Click on the .exe file to start the Update Wizard. You may get Security Warnings. Click Run to continue.
  3. The creative™ 4.0 Update Wizard will start. Follow the instructions on screen.
  4. When the update is complete your creative™ 4.0 will automatically restart. Estimated time for the update is 8 minutes.

How to update your sewing and embroidery machine with USB embroidery stick
(requires version 2458_5413 or higher in the machine)

  1. Click on the linked zip-file below to download the update file. You need a file compression utility to open the file (WinZip or similar).
  2. Click on the .exe file to start the Update Wizard. You may get Security Warnings. Click Run to continue.
  3. The machine Update Wizard will start. Follow the instructions on screen and be sure to select "USB embroidery stick" as the update method.
  4. When the USB embroidery stick is prepared the Update Wizard will tell you to move it to your machine, start the update and follow the instructions on the Interactive Screen.
  5. When the update is complete your machine will automatically restart. Estimated time for the update is 13 minutes.
